UPDATE #1: TMZ has learned, according to Whitney’s family, that she didn’t die from drowning, she in fact died from the combination of prescription drugs and alcohol usage. As stated before Whitney was taking prescribed Xanax (anxiety and depression) medication and possibly other medications as there were more found in her hotel room like ibuprofen (painkiller), Xanax (anti-depressant), Midol (for menstrual cramps), amoxicillin (for treating bacterial infections) … and more. . The coroner’s office told Whitney’s family there wasn’t enough water in Whitney’s lungs to cause her to die from drowning according to the official Los Angeles County Coroner.

TMZ also learned that it was Whitney’s aunt who found her body in the tub, took her out and performed CPR not her body guard as previously reported. There has been no sign of foul play so Whitney’s mom would like her body flown back to ATL. Whitney and Bobby Brown’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina has been taken to the hospital twice due to exhaustion, being inconsolable, and hysterical. The family fears the 18 year old may be suicidal. They are considering rehab as an option.

Troubled singer Whitney Houston was pronounced dead this afternoon, according to a representative for the Associated Press. Whitney was just seen out & about recently with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Ray-J. The cause of death is currently unknown. Whitney was pronounced dead at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She leaves behind a daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and ex-husband Bobby Brown. Whitney had a successful career and broke numerous records, including being the first female to debut at number one on the Billboard Charts with her album “Whitney”.
