When photos of singer Ameriie’s new do surfaced of her at Ne-Yo’s Midnight brunch as well as other Grammy parties with her sister Angela, she had everyone shocked at how drastic of a change it was. She went from long beautiful locks to short and sassy. Ameriie recently explained the reason behind the big chop saying:
“I just wanted to go short and my personality loves extremes, so I went uber short,” she told Rap-Up.com. “I call it a ‘bixie’ because it’s a cross between a bowl cut and a pixie cut.”

I think anytime we as women chop off our locks, it’s a bold move. I don’t dislike Amerie’s new ‘do, but I don’t LOVE it either. It’s not something we haven’t seen others do. It looks a little off in the first top picture, but I guess it’s the way she’s holding her head. Bold for her, but not trendsettting, as we’ve seen the look on Kelis.
