Today the world is saying rest in peace to legendary dance queen Donna Summer. Donna, 63, died May 17th in a loss to cancer. She leaves behind a husband, Bruce Sudano, and three children.

Donna Summer reigned the disco music scene in the 70s and 80s with her hits “Last Dance”, “Hot Stuff”, and “She Works Hard for the Money”.

Last Friday special invites gathered at Do Restaurant to launch F.O.C.U.S. Foundation fundraising. Guests included Josh Powell of the Atlanta Hawks, actress Jasmine Burke, actor Brad James, Konsole Kingz and celebrity stylist Jaclyn S. Banner. In the next two months F.O.C.U.S. will expand fundraising efforts and finish with the C4AC benefit on the fifteenth of July at Georgia Freight Depot.

F.O.C.U.S. 4 Life Campaign is a global effort to raise money and awareness. The group uses social media and celebrity endorsements like photo shoots and announcements to reach the public. Previous ambassadors include Keri Hilson, Laz Alonso, Jessica White, Laurieann Gibson, Lance Gross, Cynthia Bailey, Rashan Ali and Timothy Bloom.

Harlem rapper Azealia Banks tweeted new music to her fans this morning. ‘Jumanji’ is a track off her mixtape ‘Fantastic’ which will be released this summer. The song is fun and fresh with trumpets and calypso drums lending their unique sounds to the track via producers Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook. Listen below.

Rihanna has a great relationship with her fans due to how open and honest she’s been in the last few years. In her interview with Elle magazine for the May 2012 issue she spoke on her candor. “It’s like, one less skeleton in the closet, one less burden, one less secret,” she said. “I don’t have anything to hide.”

Justin Bieber called his Billboard magazine cover with Usher ‘swaggy’ in a recent tweet. With a cover headline that reads “Top of Their Game” it’s quite fitting. They both have brand new albums dropping in June & currently have released new singles.

Usher also posed for his own cover (see below). The two will perform May 20th at the Billboard Music Awards.

Even if you haven’t been keeping up with this season’s American Idol shows, you’ve probably heard of Jessica Sanchez. The sixteen year-old part-Mexican, part-Filipina star has become America’s sweetheart, belting her heart out week after week. Last night she performed “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” from the 1981 show ‘Dream Girls’, prompting the original singer Jennifer Holiday to tweet her approval.

“Yes, Jessica’s performance of ‘And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going’ was absolutely flawless! An amazing voice,” she said. “Jessica Sanchez should be our next American Idol.”

If the Britney Spears X-Factor rumors are true, she’ll be the highest earning judge the show has had. Today E! News is confirming that Spears has signed a $15 million contract. The pop star will join L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell on the judging panel in the fall. Spears is one half of the Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger replacement. The show is also still in need of a host. This morning Chris Brown tweeted two links to a couple freestyles he did. On his ‘Theraflu’ track Chris raps a couple bars which were quickly assumed to be about his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The line that everyone is getting bent out of shape over goes like this, “Don’t f*ck with my old bitches/like a bad fur/every industry n*gga done had her/trick or treat like a pumpkin/ just to smash her”.

But isn’t everything patched up between the two exes? Earlier this year they collaborated on not one, but two songs. Of course the infamous one being Rihanna’s “Cake” remix, and the other more subtle, “Turn Up the Music”.

It’s never cool when a person disses his or her ex on a social platform but can we really be mad at Chris? The bars are pretty vague and the lyrics should be assessed accordingly. Also, Rihanna is not Chris Brown’s only ex-girlfriend. Draya Michele from Basketball Wives did tell Wendy Williams that she dated Chris Brown for about 9 months.

Chris defended himself on Twitter, tweeting, “Assumptions! I didn’t say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about.” Can we cut Chris some slack?

Katy Perry is the front-woman for Adidas’s “All In” movement. In the new commercial Perry sports a hot pink and blue Adidas sports-bra with matching pants and kicks. The minute-long ad is upbeat and funky but, surprisingly most of the air time goes to the supporting acts. Katy is only seen in a few quick head shots. Watch the plug below.
